Product Overview
Powered by anĀ Intel Core i5-7200U processor, 8 GB of DDR3L/1600 memory,Ā and aĀ 128GB SSD, theĀ Latitude 3380Ā runs smoothly and cranks through basic tasks just fine. On the other hand,Ā itās super tough.Ā You couldĀ drop it on the sidewalk and itād still deliver the sales projections for tomorrowās meeting.Ā Itās outfitted with bothĀ HDMI and DisplayPort.
Tough and attractive
TheĀ 3380Ā manages to be both pretty and rugged, its shell formed by theĀ tough metal and carbon-composite material quickly gaining favor with higher-end PC makers.Ā WhenĀ gripped, theĀ 3380Ā by the two ends and you tryĀ to twist it,Ā itĀ doesnātĀ give one iota.Ā Even the screen panel,Ā a mere quarter-inch thick, barely flexesĀ whenĀ the lid is whippedĀ up by just its corner and snappedĀ shut it again.
Design Features
TheĀ Latitude 3380 has a gorgeous, non-glare, 13.3-inch IPS touchscreenĀ with a native resolution ofĀ 1366 x 768 pixelsĀ and the best off-axis viewing you have everĀ seen so far. TheĀ keyboard flexes in its middle and its keys bounce a little much, but they donāt clatter andĀ they render nearly every keystroke correctly.Ā TheĀ slightly concave keys are nicely islandedĀ from each other andĀ offer just the right level of friction. Four levels of backlighting are available, which makes the computer easier to use andĀ reduces the load on the batteryĀ when you donāt need its brightest settings.
Business Connections
Too manyĀ Ultrabook designers drop important ports in pursuit of ever-thinner profiles.Ā TheĀ DELL Latitude 3380Ā offers nearly everything you could ask for in a laptop this size,Ā including hardwired Ethernet, HDMI, mini DisplayPort, an SD card reader, and three USB 3.0 ports.Ā Many of these ports are located on the notebookās rear deck, which makes them a bit of a hassle to access. Dell outfits theĀ Latitude 3380Ā with an 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter.Ā But if you find yourselfĀ frequently deskbound, Dell includes a docking station port on the bottom of the computer.
Collaborative Construction
Ā A 180-degree hinge allows the system to lay flat, making it easier to share content on the IPS touchscreens with Corning Gorilla Glass and up to 10x higher scratch resistance. When theĀ Latitude 3380ās battery diesĀ even under a grueling battery-rundown test,Ā you can pull it out and slap in a fresh one. Thatās a rare attribute of modern Ultrabooks,Ā and itās a good thing because itĀ takesĀ more than 4 hours to not-quite fully charge the original.
